The mirror should generally be no more than two-thirds of the width of the wall or the furniture it is placed above. For bathroom vanities, aim for roughly 75% of the vanity's width.

Strategically position a large mirror opposite a window or near a light source to reflect natural light and the view. This creates the illusion of greater depth and openness.

Mirrors should generally be mounted so that the center is approximately at average eye level. This height is typically between 60 to 65 inches from the floor.

Round mirrors work well as a soft focal point in modern designs, and rectangular mirrors provide clean, symmetrical lines for structure. Arched or oval mirrors add elegant curves and can balance rooms with sharp-edged furniture.

Always check product details for moisture resistance, and choose options explicitly rated as "bathroom grade." These have sealed backings and corrosion-resistant or moisture-resistant frames.
