Maintaining synthetic fiber rugs involves the following steps:
- Start by blotting out as much of the stain as possible using a dry cotton or white paper towel.
- Use a blunt instrument to scrape off any food or debris gently.
- Create a mixture of a minimal amount of dish soap with a cup of cold water. Employ this mix and a clean sponge to remove the remainder of the stain.
- After cleaning, blot the area with a dry towel to remove any excess moisture.

A rectangular traditional area rug with a large central medallion rendered in cream, dusty blue, and warm tan against a soft gray field. The medallion is surrounded by dense floral scrollwork and vine motifs that fill the field in a classic Persian layout. A multi-layered border frames the entire rug with repeating geometric and floral banding in coordinating gray, cream, and blue tones. The surface has a deliberately faded, distressed finish that gives the colors a washed, antique appearance — nothing is saturated or sharp. The pile is very low and smooth with a tight machine-woven texture. Short fringe edges (approximately 0.6 inches) run along the two short ends in a cream/natural tone.
