Follow these steps to keep your shag rugs looking their best:
- Use a wool-approved product in combination with spray extraction for cleaning.
- Note that shedding is a normal occurrence for shag rugs and will decrease over time. Avoid pulling the yarn out as it may cause rug damage.

A rectangular shag area rug with a soft, blurred checkerboard pattern in white and heathered gray. The white squares dominate as the background, with medium gray squares alternating in a classic grid layout — but because of the thick, fluffy shag pile, the edges of each square are slightly soft and textured rather than crisp. The overall effect is a dreamy, cloud-like version of a checkerboard. The pile is visibly deep and plush, with fibers that catch light and create subtle tonal variation within each square. The rug has clean bound edges with no fringe or tassels. At a glance it reads as a modern, cozy neutral rug with just enough pattern to be interesting.
