A rectangular area rug with an allover damask trellis pattern on a deep charcoal gray ground. The pattern consists of repeating ogee-shaped lattice frames, each enclosing an ornate scrollwork medallion motif with symmetrical floral and foliate details. The motifs are rendered in a lighter silver-gray tone, creating a tone-on-tone effect with subtle contrast. The viscose fibers give the lighter pattern areas a soft metallic sheen that shifts with the viewing angle. The pile is medium height with a smooth, slightly lustrous surface texture. Edges are cleanly bound with no fringe or tassels. The overall impression is of a classic traditional damask in a refined, monochromatic gray colorway with a quiet shimmer.

Rug Maker's Note
The Barclay Carpet Collection showcases traditional inspired designs that exemplify timeless styles of elegance, comfort, and sophistication. With their hand knotted construction, these rugs provide a durability that can not be found in other handmade constructions, and boasts the ability to be thoroughly cleaned as it contains no chemicals that react to water, such as glue. Made with Viscose, Wool in India, and has Medium Pile.
Viscose Rugs
Viscose rugs bring a soft, silky feel and a subtle sheen that adds elegance to any space. They capture the look of silk at a more affordable price, making them a stylish choice for decorative areas.
Because viscose is more delicate than wool or synthetics, these rugs are best in lower-use rooms such as bedrooms or formal living spaces. With the right care, they can keep their smooth texture and lustre for years.
Pros & Cons of Viscose Rugs
- ➕ Soft, smooth texture with a silk-like look
- ➕ Adds gentle shine and rich colour to interiors
- ➖ Sensitive to moisture and heavy wear
- ➖ Works best in moderate-use spaces
Living Room
When selecting a living room rug, choose one that anchors your furniture by either placing all the legs on the rug or just the front legs, which helps define the seating area and enhances the room’s acoustics.
Dining Room
When selecting a dining room rug, choose one large enough to fit under the table and chairs, ensuring that when the chairs are pulled out, they remain on the rug for a balanced look.
Bedroom
In the bedroom, opt for a rug that extends under the bed, providing a soft surface to step onto when getting out of bed and creating a cozy atmosphere.
Kitchen
For the kitchen, select a rug to place in front of the sink or under the countertops, offering comfort while standing and adding warmth to the space.
Bathroom
Choose a bathroom rug that fits comfortably in front of the sink or shower, providing a soft and absorbent surface for stepping out. For larger bathrooms, consider a rug that covers more area to enhance warmth and comfort.
Outdoor
For outdoor spaces like patios or decks, select a rug that complements the size of your seating area, leaving enough space around the furniture to create a well-defined and inviting look. Opt for weather-resistant materials to ensure durability.
