A rectangular area rug featuring an allover irregular checkerboard pattern in two closely related tones: a soft warm cream and a sandy beige-gold. The squares are roughly equal in size and arranged in a classic alternating grid, but each square has a slightly uneven, hand-textured appearance — some show subtle directional pile variation, giving the surface a gently distressed, artisanal quality. The overall effect is tone-on-tone with very low contrast between the two colors. The pile is low and smooth with a machine-woven surface. Edges are cleanly bound with no fringe or tassels.
