Maintaining synthetic fiber rugs involves the following steps:
- Start by blotting out as much of the stain as possible using a dry cotton or white paper towel.
- Use a blunt instrument to scrape off any food or debris gently.
- Create a mixture of a minimal amount of dish soap with a cup of cold water. Employ this mix and a clean sponge to remove the remainder of the stain.
- After cleaning, blot the area with a dry towel to remove any excess moisture.

A rectangular traditional area rug with a central stacked medallion motif — three layered diamond-shaped medallions arranged vertically along the center axis, rendered in warm golden brown, tan, and cream against a muted gray field. The field is filled with intricate small-scale geometric and floral-inspired filler motifs in brown, gold, and dark gray. A multi-line geometric border frames the entire design in dark charcoal and tan. The overall finish is intentionally distressed and faded, giving the rug a sun-worn antique appearance with softened, blended tones rather than sharp contrast. The surface is smooth and machine-woven with a medium low pile. Short cream-colored fringe runs along the two short ends of the rug, approximately 0.75 inches in length.
