A rectangular hand-knotted wool area rug with a warm cream/ivory center field filled with a dense, repeating Arts and Crafts-style floral and acanthus leaf motif. The motifs are rendered in deep burgundy red and olive/forest green, arranged in a symmetrical, allover pattern that covers the entire field. A wide dark forest green border surrounds the field, decorated with a continuous vine of small cream and gold flowers and scrolling green leaves. A narrow gold inner border separates the field from the outer border. The pile is medium height with a slightly textured, hand-knotted surface visible at close range.
