A rectangular hand-knotted wool area rug with a deep crimson red field completely filled with an allover symmetrical pattern of scrolling floral vines, palmettes, and botanical leaf motifs rendered in warm antique gold, ivory, and soft brown tones. The design is dense and intricate with no open ground visible — every inch of the red field is covered in detailed floral scrollwork. A wide black border frames the field, decorated with a matching continuous vine and floral pattern in gold and green tones. A narrow inner guard border in red separates the field from the main black border. The pile is high and dense with a rich, slightly lustrous wool texture. The rug has a short cream/ivory fringe along the short ends. The overall impression is of a classic Persian or Kashan-style rug with jewel-toned, regal coloring.
