- Use a dry cotton or white paper towel to blot out as much of the stain as possible.
- Gently scrape off any food or debris using a dull instrument.
- Prepare a cleaning solution of a small amount of dish soap mixed with a cup of cold water. With a clean sponge and this soap mixture, clean the remainder of the stain and allow it to dry.
- For comprehensive cleaning, apply a mixture of soap and water and spray over the rug, then rinse off using a garden hose.

The design is organized in horizontal bands of alternating motifs: rows of small chevron/zigzag lines, rows of diamond shapes with dot accents, and rows of larger bold zigzag stripes — all rendered in the same muted sage green on the cream ground.
