Maintaining synthetic fiber rugs involves the following steps:
- Start by blotting out as much of the stain as possible using a dry cotton or white paper towel.
- Use a blunt instrument to scrape off any food or debris gently.
- Create a mixture of a minimal amount of dish soap with a cup of cold water. Employ this mix and a clean sponge to remove the remainder of the stain.
- After cleaning, blot the area with a dry towel to remove any excess moisture.

The way the fabric on the rug works, when it’s brushed in one direction vs the other it looks dirty! So it always looks a mess :( I’m really disappointed because I LOVE the colors and design:(

Q: How do you clean this rug?
A: Hi Cathy, To clean Invergordon Area Rug; ● With a dry cotton towel or white paper towel, blot out stain as much as possible. ● Scrape off any food or debris with a dull instrument. ● Mix a very small amount of dish soap with a cup of cold water. With a clean sponge and soap mix, remove the remainder of stain and then blot the area with a dry towel. You can vacuum it on low power setting, making sure to vacuum from different angles.
