Maintaining synthetic fiber rugs involves the following steps:
- Start by blotting out as much of the stain as possible using a dry cotton or white paper towel.
- Use a blunt instrument to scrape off any food or debris gently.
- Create a mixture of a minimal amount of dish soap with a cup of cold water. Employ this mix and a clean sponge to remove the remainder of the stain.
- After cleaning, blot the area with a dry towel to remove any excess moisture.

A rectangular area rug with an allover abstract, distressed pattern that resembles layered brushstrokes or a weathered textile surface. The dominant colors are slate blue and cool medium gray, distributed evenly across the field with no clear central motif — the pattern is all-over and non-directional. Cream and light beige tones break through in irregular patches, giving the rug a faded, sun-worn quality. Scattered throughout are small accents of rust, burnt orange, and warm terracotta that add depth and prevent the palette from reading as purely cool.
