Maintaining synthetic fiber rugs involves the following steps:
- Start by blotting out as much of the stain as possible using a dry cotton or white paper towel.
- Use a blunt instrument to scrape off any food or debris gently.
- Create a mixture of a minimal amount of dish soap with a cup of cold water. Employ this mix and a clean sponge to remove the remainder of the stain.
- After cleaning, blot the area with a dry towel to remove any excess moisture.

A rectangular area rug with a warm cream/off-white base field filled with repeating geometric lattice and scrollwork motifs in golden tan and light brown. The rug features a prominent multi-band ornate border system — the outer border contains detailed scrolling geometric elements in tan and brown, with inner bands of finer linear detailing in gray and brown creating a layered, structured frame. The central field repeats a grid of interlocking geometric medallion-like forms with fine linework in gray-brown tones. The surface has a smooth, low-to-medium pile machine-woven texture. Short cream/tan fringe edges the two short ends of the rug, approximately 0.79 inches in length.
