Maintaining synthetic fiber rugs involves the following steps:
- Start by blotting out as much of the stain as possible using a dry cotton or white paper towel.
- Use a blunt instrument to scrape off any food or debris gently.
- Create a mixture of a minimal amount of dish soap with a cup of cold water. Employ this mix and a clean sponge to remove the remainder of the stain.
- After cleaning, blot the area with a dry towel to remove any excess moisture.

A rectangular area rug with a near-solid black field dominating approximately 80% of the surface. Across the entire field, faded white and soft gray traditional Persian motifs are visible — including a central medallion with ornate floral and scrollwork detailing, surrounded by an allover distressed pattern that gives the impression of age and wear. A clearly defined ornate border frames the rug in white and gray, with intricate corner details and a secondary inner border line. The distressed effect is heavy and intentional, with the white pattern appearing ghosted and worn rather than crisp. The pile is smooth and low, with a machine-woven surface texture.
