Maintaining synthetic fiber rugs involves the following steps:
- Start by blotting out as much of the stain as possible using a dry cotton or white paper towel.
- Use a blunt instrument to scrape off any food or debris gently.
- Create a mixture of a minimal amount of dish soap with a cup of cold water. Employ this mix and a clean sponge to remove the remainder of the stain.
- After cleaning, blot the area with a dry towel to remove any excess moisture.

A rectangular machine-woven area rug with a warm cream and ivory field dominated by a large central medallion in deep navy blue and teal, filled with intricate floral and scrollwork motifs. Radiating outward from the medallion are cascading floral vines and botanical details in vivid hot pink, golden yellow, burnt orange, and soft purple against the cream ground. The rug has a distressed, intentionally faded appearance — colors bleed and blur slightly at the edges of motifs, giving it a vintage worn-in quality. A multi-layered ornate border frames the design in navy and multicolor floral detail. The pile is low and smooth with a machine-woven surface texture.
