A rectangular hand-knotted area rug with a bold crimson red central field featuring an ornate Persian medallion at center — an octagonal medallion surrounded by smaller circular floral motifs arranged symmetrically. The field is filled with dense floral scrollwork in muted red-on-red tones. A structured multi-line border frames the design with geometric and floral repeat motifs in teal, beige, and orange. The entire rug has a heavily distressed, worn finish — the edges and corners fade dramatically into warm beige and cool gray, as if the dye has worn away over decades, revealing the natural fiber beneath. Short fringe (approximately 0.5") runs along the two short ends in a natural/beige tone. The pile is very low and flat with a slight silky sheen from the viscose content.
