Maintaining synthetic fiber rugs involves the following steps:
- Start by blotting out as much of the stain as possible using a dry cotton or white paper towel.
- Use a blunt instrument to scrape off any food or debris gently.
- Create a mixture of a minimal amount of dish soap with a cup of cold water. Employ this mix and a clean sponge to remove the remainder of the stain.
- After cleaning, blot the area with a dry towel to remove any excess moisture.

A rectangular machine-woven area rug with a large central medallion in warm rust and terracotta tones, featuring a four-petal floral motif at its core surrounded by intricate scrollwork. The medallion is set within a diamond-shaped surround in dusty blue-gray, all floating on a soft cream and light gray field filled with faded, distressed traditional Persian floral and vine motifs. The overall field has a heavily worn, antiqued appearance with mottled gray, cream, brown, and amber tones blending together. A layered ornate border frames the rug in similar distressed tones. The surface has a smooth machine-woven medium pile with subtle high-low texture. Short fringe edges (approximately 0.6 inches) run along the two short ends of the rug in a natural cream/ivory color.
