The foreground is filled with oversized tropical foliage — large palm fronds, banana leaves, and broad-leafed plants rendered in layered shades of olive green, warm brown, khaki, and cream. Scattered among the vegetation are illustrated safari animals: a zebra with bold black-and-white stripes, a spotted leopard or cheetah, a gray elephant on the right side, a white egret or crane bird, and a small white bird in flight near the top.
