Maintaining synthetic fiber rugs involves the following steps:
- Start by blotting out as much of the stain as possible using a dry cotton or white paper towel.
- Use a blunt instrument to scrape off any food or debris gently.
- Create a mixture of a minimal amount of dish soap with a cup of cold water. Employ this mix and a clean sponge to remove the remainder of the stain.
- After cleaning, blot the area with a dry towel to remove any excess moisture.

A rectangular high-pile area rug with an allover abstract distressed pattern. The dominant color is a medium-to-dark slate gray that sweeps across roughly 40% of the surface in irregular, painterly cloud-like formations. Warm beige and sandy tan tones fill the remaining ground, with earthy brown brushstroke-like accents scattered throughout, particularly concentrated in the upper right and lower left areas. Pale cream highlights appear in the center and lower portions, adding depth and a faded, worn-in quality.
