Maintaining synthetic fiber rugs involves the following steps:
- Start by blotting out as much of the stain as possible using a dry cotton or white paper towel.
- Use a blunt instrument to scrape off any food or debris gently.
- Create a mixture of a minimal amount of dish soap with a cup of cold water. Employ this mix and a clean sponge to remove the remainder of the stain.
- After cleaning, blot the area with a dry towel to remove any excess moisture.

A rectangular Persian-style area rug with a soft ivory/cream ground and a dominant cool blue color story throughout. The central medallion is a large, ornate floral and scrollwork design in deep navy and medium blue, surrounded by an open ivory field filled with scattered smaller floral and vine motifs. Multiple layered borders frame the design — the outermost border features a continuous floral vine in blue on ivory, with inner guard borders in navy. The entire rug has a deliberately distressed, faded finish giving it a washed-out, antique appearance with softened contrast throughout. The pile is low and smooth with a machine-woven surface texture. Edges are overlock-finished with no fringe or tassels.
