Maintaining synthetic fiber rugs involves the following steps:
- Start by blotting out as much of the stain as possible using a dry cotton or white paper towel.
- Use a blunt instrument to scrape off any food or debris gently.
- Create a mixture of a minimal amount of dish soap with a cup of cold water. Employ this mix and a clean sponge to remove the remainder of the stain.
- After cleaning, blot the area with a dry towel to remove any excess moisture.

A rectangular area rug with a warm cream/ivory base covered in an allover abstract distressed pattern. Irregular, painterly splotches and streaks of burnt orange, rust, and golden yellow dominate the surface, concentrated more heavily on the left and center portions. Pops of teal and cobalt blue appear as accent clusters, particularly along the left edge and lower center. Olive green and mustard yellow appear as subtle secondary accents throughout. The overall effect resembles a heavily weathered fresco or abstract expressionist painting — intentionally faded and worn-looking. The pile is low and smooth with a machine-woven surface texture. Edges are overlocked with no fringe or tassels. The rug is rectangular in shape.
