Maintaining synthetic fiber rugs involves the following steps:
- Start by blotting out as much of the stain as possible using a dry cotton or white paper towel.
- Use a blunt instrument to scrape off any food or debris gently.
- Create a mixture of a minimal amount of dish soap with a cup of cold water. Employ this mix and a clean sponge to remove the remainder of the stain.
- After cleaning, blot the area with a dry towel to remove any excess moisture.

A rectangular high-pile area rug with a warm cream/ivory base featuring a repeating diamond trellis pattern in rich rust and terracotta tones. Each diamond is filled with horizontal distressed striations in rust, mustard gold, navy blue, and gray, giving a painterly, slightly worn appearance. Thin gray lattice lines connect the diamonds across the field, and the entire rug is framed by a braided gray rope-style border. The edges finish with short cream-toned fringe. The overall texture appears plush and dimensional, with the distressed color treatment giving depth and an artisanal quality despite being machine woven.
