A rectangular hand-knotted wool area rug with a dramatic organic mosaic pattern inspired by natural stone or cobblestone. The outer border and field are covered in a warm beige and sandy tan mosaic of irregular, rounded polygon shapes — like pebbles or river stones — rendered in slightly varying tones of cream, tan, and light gray. Moving toward the center, the stone shapes transition through medium gray and taupe tones before culminating in a bold central cluster of deep chocolate brown and near-black irregular shapes, creating a strong focal point. The overall effect is of concentric rings of stone, darkening toward the middle. The pile is medium height with a slightly textured, hand-crafted surface appearance. Edges are cleanly bound with no fringe or tassels. The rug is rectangular in shape with a subtle tonal depth throughout.
