A rectangular area rug with a deep, solid black field covered in an allover pattern of delicate scrolling vines and small green leaves rendered in sage and light green tones. The field pattern is continuous and organic, filling the entire black center without a central medallion. Surrounding the field is a wide, ornate border on a warm beige/tan ground, densely decorated with colorful fruits (grapes, apples, pears), flowers, and stylized roosters in rich jewel tones of burgundy red, gold, purple, coral, and dark green. The border is framed by narrow black inner and outer guard stripes. The pile is medium height with a slightly textured, hooked surface that gives it a handcrafted tapestry-like appearance.
