Maintaining synthetic fiber rugs involves the following steps:
- Start by blotting out as much of the stain as possible using a dry cotton or white paper towel.
- Use a blunt instrument to scrape off any food or debris gently.
- Create a mixture of a minimal amount of dish soap with a cup of cold water. Employ this mix and a clean sponge to remove the remainder of the stain.
- After cleaning, blot the area with a dry towel to remove any excess moisture.

A rectangular traditional area rug with a warm sandy beige field dominated by a large, ornate central medallion in brown, rust, and muted blue tones surrounded by dense floral scrollwork and botanical motifs. The field is filled with smaller repeating floral and vine details in rust, orange, blue, and brown. A multi-layered border frames the rug — an inner guard border of small geometric repeats, a wide main border of continuous floral vine scrollwork in cream and brown, and a narrow outer guard. The overall finish has a slightly faded, vintage-washed quality giving it an antique character. The surface is smooth and machine-woven with a low-to-medium pile.
