Maintaining synthetic fiber rugs involves the following steps:
- Start by blotting out as much of the stain as possible using a dry cotton or white paper towel.
- Use a blunt instrument to scrape off any food or debris gently.
- Create a mixture of a minimal amount of dish soap with a cup of cold water. Employ this mix and a clean sponge to remove the remainder of the stain.
- After cleaning, blot the area with a dry towel to remove any excess moisture.

A rectangular traditional Persian-style area rug with a soft smoky gray field dominating the surface. A large ornate central medallion sits at the center, rendered in dusty navy blue, warm beige, and muted gold tones with intricate floral and scrollwork detailing. The field is filled with an allover pattern of small floral and vine motifs in the same muted palette. A multi-layered border frames the entire rug — the main border features repeating floral cartouches in navy and beige, flanked by narrower guard borders with geometric vine patterns.
