A rectangular flatweave area rug with a classic Persian medallion design. The field is dominated by warm deep brown and rust tones with a large central hexagonal medallion in rust, orange, and cream featuring a smaller geometric diamond at its center. The field surrounding the medallion is filled with an allover pattern of small stylized floral and botanical motifs in orange, gold, tan, and cream. The rug has a wide ornate border in cream and beige with repeating floral scroll motifs, framed by narrow rust and brown guard borders. The overall finish has a beautifully faded, distressed quality — colors appear softly worn and antique-like rather than saturated. The surface is smooth and flat with no visible pile. Edges are cleanly bound with no fringe or tassels.
