Maintaining synthetic fiber rugs involves the following steps:
- Start by blotting out as much of the stain as possible using a dry cotton or white paper towel.
- Use a blunt instrument to scrape off any food or debris gently.
- Create a mixture of a minimal amount of dish soap with a cup of cold water. Employ this mix and a clean sponge to remove the remainder of the stain.
- After cleaning, blot the area with a dry towel to remove any excess moisture.

A rectangular flatweave area rug with a soft blush pink field and a large central Persian-style medallion rendered in cool sage green, teal, and gray tones with cream and ivory highlights. The medallion is ornate and layered, featuring floral and scrollwork detailing that radiates outward into an allover traditional floral and vine pattern filling the entire field. A defined multi-line border frames the design in coordinating gray and teal. The surface is flat-woven with a smooth, low-texture finish and a slightly worn, distressed appearance giving it a faded vintage look. Short natural-colored fringe tassels approximately 2.5 inches long run along both short ends of the rug. The overall palette is soft and pastel — romantic and gently aged.
