Maintaining synthetic fiber rugs involves the following steps:
- Start by blotting out as much of the stain as possible using a dry cotton or white paper towel.
- Use a blunt instrument to scrape off any food or debris gently.
- Create a mixture of a minimal amount of dish soap with a cup of cold water. Employ this mix and a clean sponge to remove the remainder of the stain.
- After cleaning, blot the area with a dry towel to remove any excess moisture.

A rectangular traditional Persian-style area rug with a large central medallion motif rendered in rust, terracotta, gold, and teal on a warm cream/ivory base. The medallion features intricate floral scrollwork and layered geometric framing, with the design radiating outward to fill the field with smaller floral and vine motifs. The entire rug has a beautifully faded, distressed finish that softens the colors and gives it an antique, sun-worn appearance. Multiple ornate borders frame the field — the outermost border is a deep charcoal-brown with repeating floral vine detail, and inner borders step down in width with complementary geometric and floral banding. The surface is smooth machine-woven with a low-to-medium pile, no fringe or tassels, and bound edges.
